BUT we know what it’s like trying to research travel options, getting bombarded with repetitive ads on social media, and getting lulled in and then realizing the listing price is no where near the true cost! So we drafted a list of questions to help you sift through the noise and get to the important answers you need to experience the epic road-trip you’ve been dreaming of. Here’s why our pricing is worth every penny and why we stand head and shoulders above the rest.
10 Questions to Ask When Comparing Rental Companies
To make an informed decision and avoid hidden costs, ask these critical questions when getting quotes from other campervan or 4x4 rental companies, including peer-to-peer platforms like Outdoorsy:
Is there a daily Mileage cap?
If so, what’s the cost per mile for overages, or do they offer an “unlimited miles” package?
What is the All-In Pricing?
What’s the total cost, including all fees (prep, cleaning, pick-up/drop-off, etc.)?
What Gear is Included?
Are essentials like bedding, pillows, camp chairs, tables, first aid kits, or flashlights included, or are they extra? What’s the cost for each? Are there any optional add-ons I’ll need for a complete experience?
WHAT ARE YOUR Insurance OPTIONS?
Can I use my existing auto insurance if it covers rentals, or am I required to purchase your insurance? What are your insurance rates and deductibles?
What is the Condition of the Vehicle?
How are your vehicles maintained? Are they inspected and cleaned before each rental?

MILEAGE FEES: $0.28–$0.65 per mile over a daily cap (often just 100–150 miles) or $50–$100/day for “unlimited” miles.
VEHICLE PREP FEES: $50–$150 just to get the vehicle ready.
ESSENTIALS ADD-ONS: $10–$50 for basics like pillows, camp chairs, or safety kits.
PICK-UP/DROP-OFF CHARGES: Extra fee for convenient arrival and departure times.
MANDATORY INSURANCE UPCHARGES: Many force you to buy their coverage, even if you’re already insured.

The Insurance Reality: You Might Already Be Covered
Let’s clear up a big misconception about insurance. In the U.S., most personal auto insurance policies cover the driver, not the vehicle. This means your existing policy likely protects you when driving any vehicle, including a Titus campervan or 4x4. A quick call to your insurance provider can confirm this—saving you from paying for redundant coverage. It is also important to understand your policy deductible, the out-of-pocket amount you are responsible to pay before your insurance kicks in. We do offer $0 Deductible policies that you can purchase for the duration of your adventure with us.
Unlike competitors who may require you to purchase their insurance (often at $20–$50/day), we give you freedom of choice. Use your own policy if it covers rentals, or opt for our flexible insurance options for added peace of mind. We’re here to keep things simple, not to upsell you on something you don’t need.
